[NEWS] SexForGrades: Foursquare church distances self from pastor and UNILAG lecturer Dr Boniface involved in scandal

A rot seems to have eaten deep into the Nigerian university system so much so that many ladies have become victims of randy lecturers who sexually abuse them or make their lives a living hell on campus if they refuse to be taken advantage of.
Just recently, the story of one UNILAG senior lecturer and pastor at Foursquare Gospel Church, Dr. Boniface Igbeneghu, caused serious buzz on social media after he was caught on tape soliciting intimacy from an undercover journalist who posed as a 17-year-old minor seeking admission in the school.
In the video clip making rounds on social media, the so-called pastor and senior lecturer at UNILAG was seen having series of inappropriate conversations with the supposed minor as he even told her at a point to put off the light and kiss him for a minute.
The lecturer also asked the lady about her sex life just after praying for her to give her life to Christ. On another occasion, he told her to move closer to him on a chair to kiss him, when she showed reluctance, he joked that she was stiff.
Obviously portraying the Foursquare Church in a bad light, the religious institution has now distanced itself from the scandal against one of their pastors.
In a statement shared on their Twitter page, the church explained that they do not condone such acts as they disassociated themselves from the conduct of Dr. Boniface.

The South-West Zonal Head of Public Affairs of the Agency, Mr Ibrahim Farinloye said the rescue operation was ongoing as at 8pm.
NAN gathered that about 10 different families occupied the first and the ground floors, while the school occupied the second and fourth floors.
The building at 63 Massey Street, it was learnt had been marked for demolition by officials of the Lagos State Building Control Agency.
However, the occupants of the building frustrated the demolition.
NAN further learnt that 17 of the rescued students and occupants of the building were taken to Massey Children Hospital, very close to the scene, while others were taken to the Lagos Island General Hospital on Broad Street.
A worker at the Massey Children Hospital, who spoke with NAN on condition of anonymity said that four out of those brought in, died few minutes after.
The medical staff said that six of those who were rushed to the Lagos General Hospital also died.
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who visited the scene said the government would ensure that the trapped victims were rescued
The school moved to the collapsed building some years ago.
Distraught parents of pupils and residents of the building jammed the scene of the rescue operation hoping that their children and relatives would come out alive.

Akin said he had gone to work, when he received the news of the incident. He also stated that the owner did some renovation two years ago.
A neighbour, Mr Adewale Owoso likened the moment the building collapsed to a bomb explosion.
“We were just sitting down in front of the school, when we heard a loud sound .
“We all ran into different directions but after the dust had settled, we realised that it was the building that collapsed.
“We quickly mobilised and began some rescue operation and we had rescued more than twenty people, before the emergency workers arrived,” he said.
Mrs Aishat Onilenla said, three of her sister’s three children were trapped in the collapsed building. ‘My friend has seven children also trapped in the rubble”, she said.
“ I don’t know how she is going to survive it. It is too big for her to bear,” she said.

[NEWS] UPDATE ON THE AJEROMI IFELODUN HOUSE OF REPS DEBACLE

Yesterday evening at the Commission's headquarters in Yaba, the parties' representatives were briefed on the latest development. The Commission explained that the election has been declared inconclusive due to various electoral malpractices in some units which culminated in the election cancelled in some units across four wards namely: Mosafejo, Ojo Road, Olodi and Awodiora.
In all, election will be rescheduled in 24 units; 18 in Mosafejo, three in Awodiora, two in Ojo Road and one in Olodi. The Commission said the rerun poll will hold within 29 days as stipulated by the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) and a date within that time frame will be communicated to all parties involved.
Also according to the Commission, the PDP candidate, Rita Orji leads 31,982 votes judging by the already collated results of seven wards followed closely by the APC flag bearer, HKT with 28,758 votes.
Total number of registered voters in the affected units stand at over 15,000.
Again, it needs to be impressed upon to dispel the rumours going round that Rita has been declared the winner of last Saturday's elections. No one has been returned elected as the process is yet to be concluded. The news that she has won is fake and if anyone argues with you, just ask him or her if she has the result issued to her by INEC declaring her the winner. If a result and or the certificate of return has been issued, they would definitely have been bandied about.

[NEWS] PDP Rejects Presidential Election Results

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have said no to and rejected the February 23rd presidential election results being announced by INEC.

The party’s National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, who addressed a press conference in Abuja, described the figures being announced by INEC as incorrect and totally unacceptable.
He alleged that the current administration “colluded” with INEC and security agencies to manipulate results from polling units across the country.
“Our collation centres have the original results from all the polling units in the country. That is from where are going to reclaim our results,” he said.
“The results are incorrect and unacceptable to our party. Officials of the APC working with INEC have decided to alter results to affect our people. This must now be resisted by every well-meaning Nigerian.
INEC must live up to its responsibility. They are under pressure. We have the facts and when the time comes, we begin to release them.”
Secondus added the PDP will update Nigerians “as time goes on” regarding their decisions in other states yet to be announced.

[NEWS] Lagos Court Orders Jay Jay Okocha’s Arrest Over Tax Evasion

A Lagos High Court, sitting at Igbosere, has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of former Super Eagles star, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, for failure to appear in court to answer why he allegedly failed to pay his income tax.

Okocha was charged by the Lagos State Ministry of Justice in a three-count charge bordering on failure to furnish return of income.
The Lagos State Prosecutor, Dr. Jide Martins had on June 6, 2017 filed the charge, but when the case came up on October 5, 2017, the defendant did not appear in court.
Consequently after several adjournments without the defendant appearing in court when service have been effected on him, the prosecutor urged the court to issue a bench warrant.
Justice Adedayo Akintoye on January 29, 2019 issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the ex supper eagles star and adjourned until February 19.
However on the adjourned date, prosecution informed the court that the warrant had not been perfected on the defendant.
At yesterday’s proceeding, Justice Akintoye further adjourned the case until April 15 for the execution of the bench warrant and further hearing.
Earlier, the prosecutor told the court that the defendant had failed to furnish return of income for tax purposes to the Lagos State internal revenue services. Martins also said that the defendant had failed to pay his income taxes.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 56 (a) and (b) of the Lagos State Revenue Administration Law No.8, 2006 and Section 94 (1) of the Personal Income Tax Act Cap P8, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
